Meet the Team

  • Gina Hluska

PRESIDENT / FOUNDER / REHAB SPECIALIST / TRAINER

Gina has an extensive background in the horse world. She started out learning the reins of the horse while learning to walk. Her passion for riding grew as she learned and competed in jumpers. From there, Gina performed many disciplines while riding in Arabian Nights, a dinner theater located in Orlando, FL. Gina’s love for horses was not satisfied simply performing. At 20, she started working at the racetrack as an assistant trainer exercising, ponying, treating and training Thoroughbreds. It was there that she more clearly defined her goals during her employment as a veterinary technician, working with Teigland, Frankling & Broken, alongside some of the industry’s top veterinarians. While assisting in treating injured performance horses, both in the field and in-hospital settings, she realized the importance of rehabilitative and supportive veterinary care. It was then that Gina began defining what her future in the industry would look like. She went back to school, obtained the credentials and additional experience required to operate an equine rehab facility and started Elite Equine Rehab. After a short time, she recognized the need for a sanctuary that offered in-house supportive care and rehabilitation for the horses that would otherwise be displaced or discarded. It is here that Elite Equine CO was born and from where it continues to grow.

Liesl has been riding horses “since she could walk,” and started competing at eight years old. She specializes in Hunter-Jumpers successfully competing on the “A” circuit in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. She believes that by ensuring a horse has a solid foundation, it cultivates the confidence and ability to build the new skills needed to achieve success in their second career. Liesl is passionate about EER’s mission to give rescued performance horses a second chance and feels blessed to be part of the team.
